Tips

Trenching

Our trenching equipment is configured for the most common trenching applications, phone, power cable and storm water up to 100mm wide. Trenches can be dug to a depth of about 900mm deep although 600mm or less is more common. A common practice is to have your pipe or cable and conduit ready to go so we can lay it in the trench and then backfill the trench on the same day.

Buried Cable Location.

Let us know a few days before you start your trenching or post hole job and we will obtain the relevant Dial Before You Dig plans for you and then conduct a cable avoidance sweep with our specialised Cable Location equipment. These procedures greatly reduce the risk of damaging your existing phone (internet) and power services and can save you money, time, stress and inconvenience. Don't risk trenching, post holes or excavation in your yard without calling Maleny Dingo Hire first.

Dimensions.

A Dingo is approximately 1050mm wide and weighs about 745kg without a load. The SWL (Safe Working Load) is 250kg with a Maximum (MWL) of 500kg. They will move a cubic metre of dirt in about 6 standard bucket loads. They can load small trucks and utes.

Weather.

Earthmoving is best done in dry weather if possible as there is less damage to grassed areas and machines are more efficient with greater traction. Check the forecasts and plan your work where possible.
